Just weeks after revealing in court his version of what happened the night Lolly Jackson was killed, George Louca died of stage four lung cancer. With him also died any possibility of anyone ever being convicted of Lolly’s death. Well, at least that’s what I predict…
I broke this story about Judge Colin Lomont’s judgment in the High Court in Joburg in which he found that the police did intentionally and deliberately assault Radovan Krejcir when they arrested him in 2013. The judge also slammed the investigating officer for perjuring himself and lying to the court.
Five years after Lolly Jackson was gunned down in a house in Edleen in Johannesburg, George Louca finally testified in a court about what happened that night. Or at least his version of what happened that night. It was surreal to be in that courtroom in Palm Ridge and listen to Louca testifying in a raspy voice, breathing through an oxygen mask with a tank at his feet. You have to listen to this audio.
Dave Forbes, organizer of the Ultra music festivals in SA, was arrested for shooting dead a ticket tout at a Cape Town garage. I spoke to those who know Forbes to find out more about the ‘Big Daddy’ of the electro dance scene:
George Louca was rushed to hospital and two litres of fluid drained from his lungs. There was then a chaotic early morning move by private ambulance to transfer him to another hospital because Bara doesn’t have sufficient security to protect him. Louca could be turning state witness against Krejcir – if he dies now, the case against Krejcir could die too.
